MY WAIFS
"My Waifs-in-Waiting were costumed by Alice Hughes, had their makeup and hair done by Joanne Frye and were eagerly waiting for the call. Abandoned and forlorn, they managed to smile for our London still photographers Dennis and Steve Ramsey. From left to right (and down to up), the young ladies are Aimee Johnson, Yvonne Hill, and Rosy Meredith. No 'opening night jitters, here.'  They'd rehearsed their lines, their unspoken lines and background stories at Saint Margaret's church in Coventry and were already 'in character.'  Coach Marion Sands saw that they were thoroughly rehearsed on their gymnastic routines, but their first rehearsal in the theater was on the day before the premiere, and I discovered that despite the height and width of the marquee, I had to compress their performance area to allow for lighting and camera angles.   Choreographer Alitia Sands ran back and forth between the video van and the stage, consulting with cinematographer Peter Anderson, and adjusting the routines for the cameras and lighting.  Through it all, these wonderful girls never complained.  They simply adapted. After all, rhythmic gymnasts practice for years to prepare for just such one night stands, where everything rides on the single performance."
